Swedish Challenge Youth Team

Introducing the five young stars who were successful in making the Swedish Challenge Youth team for the America's Cup Challenge.

Oscar Engström

Position: Helm

Oscar followed in the footsteps of his two older sisters when he immersed himself in the world of sailing. Growing up in Lake Aspen, he carved his craft during his time spent at sailing high school and sailing the Optimist. After years honing his skills in the 29er, Oscar stepped into the 49er.

Sailing in a bigger team was a challenge that Oscar full embraced when he began sailing Match Racing. When the Swedish Challenge for the Youth America’s Cup was announced Oscar, together with his friend Rasmus Alnebeck, put in the hard work to get make the youth team for the 37th America's Cup in Barcelona.

Hanno Seifert

Position: Helm

Hanno broke the traditional mould when forging his path as a sailor, having not attended sailing high school. Demonstrating there are different paths to success, Hanno has quickly established himself one of the best WASZP sailors in Sweden.

Having been part of the Norwegian foiling team for years, Hanno is now fully focused on the opportunity the Swedish Challenge has given him. His willingness to learn, curiosity and careful preparation are key drivers in his success story.

Oscar Andersson

Position: Trimmer

Oscar's incredibly accuracy trimming and flying his Moth at every opportunity he gets have helped him earned hs place on the Swedish Challenge Youth team. He has been sailing all kinds of different dinghies and regularly been on the national podium during his youth career.

His fierce work ethic coupled with his friendly and easygoing attitude has solidified his invaluable role within the team.

Hugo Christensson

Position: Trimmer

Hugo's determination and focus to be a professional sailor is truly remarkable. He is the one always taking notes and preparing well in advance to ensure his best possible performance.

With a wide ranging background in 49er, Nacra and offshore sailing, Hugo recently ended a Olympic campaign in the 470 mixed. Now he sails his Moth every day in the run up to the Youth America's Cup Challenge.

Felicia Fernström

Position: Trimmer

Felicia is a fast learner and hard worker. With a background at the sailing high school in Lerum, she has been sailing 29er and also wing foil.

Driven by her passion to become part of both the youth and women's Swedis Challenge teams, Felicia was one of the top sailors in the WASZP in Artemis Academy. Felicia's strength is her determination. When she sets a goal, she does everything she can to achieve it. Her endless curiousity means she's never afraid to ask questions, bringing her closer to her dream of professional sailing success.
